Useful functions of modern washing machines. Intelligent wash for dummies Child lock

When I was little, washing machines weren't sold in stores. If we use the terminology of that time, they were not imported. The fact that they were not in household appliance stores is not so bad - from time immemorial there was nothing there at all. But even in thrift stores, washing machines did not appear, except for a misunderstanding, like a plastic jug with a motor called a “Malyutka”. There were plenty of VCRs, double-cassette players, watches and even televisions in the thrift stores. But washing machines, which improve life no less, remained in terrible short supply. Apparently, because the lucky ones who regularly traveled abroad could not put them in a suitcase or even just carry them in their hands.

We must also understand that by washing machine then we did not mean a full-cycle solution, but a rather primitive design that could only wash clothes. It was customary to press it manually using special rollers. My grandmother had an engineering marvel with two tanks, one of which was used to wash clothes, and the other where they were wrung out. The miracle was so cherished that in my memory it was turned on twice. After all, in those days everything was just as “good” with the service as with the availability of goods in stores.

At first, imported automatic washing machines were very pleasing, especially against the backdrop of a plastic jug with the inscription “Baby.” But over the years, for some reason they became worse, not better. No, I'm not talking about thinning metal and plastic drums. In the end, this was observed only in budget models, and connoisseurs of solid solutions could always overpay and take what they liked. I did just that six years ago. But in European countries, water and electricity are quite expensive, and incomes are not at all as high as many people from Russia think. Therefore, people are ready to make sacrifices to save both. As it turned out, even to the detriment of the quality of washing.

It was a very unpleasant surprise for me when the new washing machine began to rinse clothes only with cold water. And in winter it’s completely icy. She did not completely wash out the standard powders. I didn’t even believe in the reality of what was happening. I thought that I had received a defective copy. At the IFA exhibition in Berlin, I caught a representative of the company that made the washing machine and asked how to turn on the heating of the water during rinsing? “No way,” the representative answered blithely, “We need to save electricity. And don’t waste it on all sorts of stupid things.” Then there were long experiments with various detergents, and the seemingly expensive Japanese miracle machine still washed out completely. But here another manifestation of concern for economy crept up.

The drum of the machine was designed for 6 kg of laundry. If you hammered it completely, everything went smoothly. And if it’s two-thirds, in general, too. But sometimes you need to wash a couple of things urgently, without waiting for the pile to accumulate. It is clear that a thrifty European will never do this, and will wear dirty clothes until the last moment. But we, residents of rich Russia, can still afford a little extravagance. Apparently, no one really tested the low-load mode, because the car simply went crazy. The scales in the drum imagined that something appeared in it and immediately disappeared. Therefore, the water was collected and immediately drained. And so on several times. But the most interesting thing began at the spin stage. The drum did not spin up to maximum speed and sluggishly threw things from wall to wall for hours. At the same time, the screen mockingly showed that there was one minute left until the end of the wash. In fact, the process could last three or five hours. And all night. Sometimes I had to stop all this disgrace manually, wait for the hatch to unlock, and save the wet thing.

I was so tired of all this that I began to think about buying an old machine, changing all the parts in it that were possible, and washing it for my own pleasure. But faith in technological progress overcame conservatism. Well, rinsing with warm water couldn’t have been completely eradicated?

It turns out that only a few places survived. For example, in Miele machines. A very good brand, everyone recommends it, but the most budget model costs more than 100 thousand rubles. You won’t scare us with such numbers, but I still wanted to clarify whether there are cheaper options. Proper rinsing was found in the flagship models of LG washing machines. More precisely, by default it is like everywhere else, with cold water, but if you press the button, everything will be fine.

It was not possible to test the work with a small amount of laundry, but I decided to take a chance. And some time ago, a silver LG washing machine with a musical and easy-to-remember name F12U1HBS4 came to me. With a depth of 45 centimeters, it promised to wash up to 7 kilograms of laundry.

What immediately catches your eye is a gigantic hatch, into which it looks like an adult could climb into a drum, but it serves mainly a decorative function. In fact, the diameter of the loading hole is quite standard. The drum is driven by a direct drive inverter motor, which LG says improves reliability and saves space in the cabinet. As for reliability, you can trust: the warranty on the motor is 10 years. I was afraid that such a design would be noisy, but no. If the steel of the case were a couple of millimeters thicker, the washing would not be heard at all. But since they learned to prevent cars from jumping around the apartment with the help of concrete blocks, steel has become thin everywhere. However, it’s good anyway.

The controls are completely touch-sensitive, and at first I was afraid that I would never learn how to install the program - there were too many options. However, in practice, to start washing you need to press literally in two places. And if you want to include the treasured rinse with warm water, then use three. We are a publication about IT, and therefore I will not torment you with the details of washing duvets or removing stains. Let me just say that the machine washes very well. Doesn't dull with small volumes. The powder washes out completely, and the washed clothes do not stand up like a stick when they dry. Squeezes almost dry. It is especially worth noting the treatment of laundry with hot steam during washing and spinning (TrueSteam function), which makes things softer and more pleasant to the touch, as well as the drum cleaning function. The latter is extremely useful if you machine wash rugs, sneakers and other rather dirty items. After them, it would be useful to rinse the drum, but most machines do not turn on if there is nothing inside. Here you can enable complete cleaning of the drum without items. Men usually don’t understand such subtleties (“Ha, just think - a rug! It’s not dirty!”), but women will appreciate it.

Well, one more function that provoked the writing of this text. On the right side of the control panel there is a hand with a smartphone and it says Tag On. As they explained to me, you can download programs from the Internet (!) into the car and diagnose its health. We've been joking for so long about the penetration of the Internet into household devices like microwaves and washing machines, and here it is - the future!

In reality, everything turned out to be a little more prosaic. The machine itself does not go to the Internet and does not connect to Wi-Fi. But if you touch a smartphone with NFC to it, it will offer to install the LG Smart Laundry application. In it you can choose a mind-boggling number of different washing programs - significantly more than in the machine itself. After that, you simply touch your smartphone to the icon and the wash starts. From a smartphone, everything can be configured much more accurately. Simply because the description of some items on a plastic panel will never fit. Probably, older people will still prefer to press the touch buttons on the latter, but younger users may like the idea of turning on the machine with their phone.

This model was made in the Ruza district of the Moscow region. Moreover, the degree of localization is quite high - if the engine comes from abroad, then the body and electronic filling are of Russian origin. And concrete blocks for gravity too (you can read and watch a report from the factory). I will not advocate supporting the “domestic manufacturer”; fortunately, I myself am in awe of Made in Germany on household appliances. But, I’m afraid, similar functionality when assembled abroad will now cost significantly more than the 30 thousand rubles that are being asked for the LG F12U1HBS4 (the name can be pronounced a little into a sing-song voice). And even if you don’t trust Korean quality control, which is impossible to evade at the plant near Ruza, it’s useful to remember that any spare parts are literally within walking distance.

Probably, the next generation of washing machines will nevertheless break into the Internet and learn to download from there not only new firmware, but also ringtones informing about the end of the wash. By the way, this could be a big new market for the music industry.

Useful functions of modern washing machines

Since the advent of automatic drum washing machines, they have learned to wash according to given programs, and their number directly depends on the manufacturer’s imagination - modes for children’s bedding, shirts, jeans, etc. are used, and new buttons appear. Functions such as delayed start, self-diagnosis, child lock, and leakage control are also already familiar to most users - they are found in every modern unit. Now manufacturers have begun to mass produce equipment with an inverter motor - about the advantages of such control. Now we move on to the modern functions of washing machines, which make life much easier.

Air bubble wash (foam wash)

It is believed that the ideological inspirer of the air-bubble washing technology is Samsung, but there are also bubble drums, for example, from Daewoo Electronics. The principle is based on the fact that there is a bubble generator under the drum - water and powder enter there and mix.

Foam from the bubble generator enters the drum through special holes

Washing occurs when bubbles penetrate the fabric and burst there. This method is more effective for removing dirt - in any case, users say that bubble washing is superior in its effect to standard washing. Among the advantages of this function, in addition to better washing, is a reduction in energy consumption: to create foam, it is enough to keep the water at a low temperature and not heat it.

Samsung WW6600K washing machine with EcoBubble generator, AddWash laundry reloader and inverter motor

Detergents are also saved: for foaming you need simply less powder than for regular washing. Things shrink less and generally deteriorate: bubble washing is suitable for silk, cashmere, and fine wool. Moreover, the service life of the unit itself increases - there is no friction between things and the wall of the tank, and there is less wear. And in general, a washing machine with an inverter drive and a bubble generator becomes almost silent in operation.

Steam treatment

The steam function is needed for the highest quality disinfection of things, which occurs at high temperatures. The steam refreshes laundry well, and the user can usually adjust its temperature to be able to treat even delicate fabrics. The principle is simple: clothes are not wetted with water, but are treated with steam - it penetrates deep into the fabric, removing odors and germs. This technology is good for families with small children and allergy sufferers. Using steam is also economically beneficial: after all, noticeably less water is wasted. Steam smooths out wrinkles, and after such steam treatment, you can either not iron the laundry at all, or do it faster (for example, after spinning at high speeds).

Electrolux EWF1287HDW2 washing machine with Steam Care steam generator, OptiSense intelligent system and dryer

Using steam, you can wash woolen and silk items, down jackets and delicate linen without taking them to the dry cleaner. Manufacturers began to produce combined machines that can be used both in normal modes and with steam treatment - it all depends on the user’s preferences.

Some people use steam instead of rinsing.

For example, in LG washing machines, using the TrueSteam function, you can wash without water or powder; steam simply refreshes clothes and removes unpleasant odors. It is possible to use a combined wash with water and steam - this removes allergens and powder residues. The same thing happens with Miele, only the Steam Care function allows you to use steam blasts or treat things with constant steam - the user adjusts the strength and intensity himself. But Electrolux's SteamCare is exclusively steam washing without water, which copes with slightly soiled items, but there are special cycles for processing cotton and synthetics.

Reloading laundry

In fact, the reloading function means that at any time you can add laundry that was forgotten during the main load into the drum, and for this you don’t have to dance around the machine: remember how to make an emergency stop of the cycle, wait until the lid is unlocked, start the wash again, in the end . At first, this function was equipped with top-loading machines, but now front-loading washing machines also have it.

Washing machine Hansa Crown WHC 1456 IN with the ability to reload even during spinning and rinsing

The most famous option is Samsung's AddWash - the Koreans added a small door to the loading hatch. To add laundry, you just need to pause the wash, open this door, add the forgotten laundry and continue the cycle. It is convenient to use AddWash not only in case of forgetfulness, but also when you need to wring out some hand-washed item or simply add conditioner or laundry detergent. The only “but” is that the dimensions of the hatch are small, and any large thing simply will not fit through there.

Samsung is so far the only manufacturer that has provided a reloading door on the hatch

Other manufacturers do not provide an additional door on the hatch, but in some models the reloading function is still present. So, Bosch or Hansa machines have an electromagnetic lock for these purposes, and the “Start” button is combined with a pause: the user presses it and waits until a signal appears on the display that the door can be opened.

Intelligent wash control

Intelligent washing (Fuzzy Logic, Intellowasher, Fuzzy Control, Auto Optimal Wash, etc. functions) has been around for a long time - manufacturers build a microprocessor into the machine that completely controls the washing process. The user only needs to load laundry and select the appropriate program.

Washing machine LG FH-8C3LD with intelligent washing system

The machine itself determines the weight of the loaded items, and often the degree of their contamination, along with the water hardness using special sensors, then adjusts the parameters of the selected program - water consumption, temperature, spin speed, wash duration, rinsing and others.

By the way, the “little brother” of the intelligent washing system is the automatic detergent dosing function, which is not very popular in our country, although it is economical. The fact is that in most units, automatic dosing can only be applied to liquid detergents, which are noticeably more expensive than powders. Different manufacturers call this system differently: for example, Samsung calls it Auto Dispense, Siemens calls it i-Dos, and Miele calls it TwinDos.

Wi-Fi and NFC

Top manufacturers began equipping their washing machines with Wi-Fi some time ago, but only recently did this function finally find practical application - at one time it could only be used to send error messages to technical support and receive signals from the machine that something had gone wrong not this way.

The Candy GVF4 137LWHC/2 washing machine with Wi-Fi and NFC modules remembers preferences and offers washing options taking them into account

Now, with the help of NFC and Wi-Fi, the smartphone turns into a convenient machine control panel: using the application, the user can start a wash cycle, stop it, configure individual parameters and see when the wash is finished.

Through the application, the user can download and install new washing modes in the machine

Of course, on the one hand, there is a delayed start, which can be activated while still leaving home. On the other hand, the whole process is visible on a smartphone, and knowing that everything is going fine is somehow calmer. Well, or you can run a wash cycle and start the spin cycle when you get to the house to get and hang fresh laundry.

Drying

In the past, washers with dryers were bulkier than those without, but manufacturers have now learned to fit all the features into a more compact package. A combined machine with a dryer will be relevant for those who are tired of fiddling with dryers and hanging clothes after washing - after all, it saves a lot of time.

Miele WTF 130 WPM washing machine with steam and dry function: 7 kg for washing and 4 kg for drying

As a rule, drying occurs in the same drum, but the load of laundry for this process is smaller than for washing - this is due to the difference in the size of the wet and dried clothes. Modern technologies allow you to launch one of several drying modes: for example, gentle or automatic after washing, and also turn it on using a timer. Some models even have different modes for different fabrics, and the choice of program will also depend on the moisture content of the items.

You have decided to buy yourself this necessary device for your household, but you are completely confused by the variety of assortments... what to choose? We will help you navigate and tell you what points you should pay attention to first.

Types of washing machines

First, let's decide what type of washing machine you need. There are two of them: front-loading and top, or vertical, models. Now let’s figure out how they differ from each other, and which one you should choose.

Front loading machines

These are the most common models. They have the most traditional “appearance” of washing household appliances: a white bedside table with a glass “eye” - a door in the middle. With such a machine you can monitor the washing, as they say, “online”. It will hold about 5 kg of things, although some can be loaded with 7 to 10 kg. However, be prepared for the fact that a full-size device will take up a lot of space.

Most washing machines have a height of 85 cm. For those who are limited in space, there are narrow models, the depth of which is 35-40 cm, and compact ones, which can be “hidden” from prying eyes by being built under the sink or countertop. Such washing machines will not take up much space, but their capacity will immediately decrease and range from 3 to 5 kg. Therefore, when choosing between full-size and “mini” appliances, focus on the number of things you usually wash.

Table 1 Classification of washing machines with front loading of laundry

Top loading washing machines

These models do not have a round glass door through which you can observe the washing process. You load items by opening the top cover above the drum. It opens easily with one click on a special lock key. In more expensive models, a special device is installed (called “Drum Up”), thanks to which after washing the drum immediately stops with the flaps facing up. You don't have to turn it over with your hands to get things out.

One of the main reasons why buyers choose a top-loading model is its versatility in installation and compactness. Unlike "front" models, you do not need additional access and free space for an open hatch. The cover is on top, so it doesn’t matter at all which side you place the device against the wall. The dimensions of vertical models are usually similar to the dimensions of their frontal “colleagues”: height 85-90 cm, and width 40 cm. Then there are subtleties, depending on which you decide which model you need. For example, the depth in cars of this type is 60 cm, while front-facing cars can boast of both 60 and 35 centimeters.

Note! There is a myth among buyers that the drum in vertical models is much more reliable and of higher quality than in front-loading machines. In fact, the practicality of this detail is completely independent of the type of load.

In the main “operational” characteristics, both types of machines are almost identical. True, by choosing a vertical model, you deprive yourself of such a small bonus as the ability to monitor the progress of the wash, and the movable lid will not allow you to turn the surface of the machine into a shelf. However, this is all a matter of habit and personal preference.

Table 2 Pros and cons of front-loading and top-loading washing machines

pros 1.Large selection of models on the market.
2. Price. Typically, front-loading machines cost less than their top-loading counterparts.
3. Possibility to monitor the progress of washing.
4.Large capacity. The washing machine can be “disguised” and hidden by being built into the countertop.
5. It can be used as an additional shelf where you can put various household utensils.
1. They are not wide, so they require little space and will fit perfectly into the interior of a small apartment.
2. Car capacity.
3. You don't need to bend over to remove washed items, because... the lid is on top.
4. You can add laundry to the drum during the washing process.
Minuses 1. You have to bend over to put things in and take them out of the drum.
2. Takes up a lot of space; in order to open the door, you need additional space.
1. High cost.
2. Models are available in only one height and width.
3. Cannot be used as an additional shelf.

Key Features You Should Pay Attention to

So, you have already assessed the size of your bathroom or kitchen and decided on the type of washing machine. Let's move on to the following characteristics of the models that are worth paying attention to.

First of all, on the maximum capacity of the drum. We touched on this topic a little above. For example, in a family of 3-4 people, about 5 kg of clothes are washed at a time, when the average capacity of a washing machine is from 3 to 7 kg.

Note! Clothes made from different fabrics do not occupy the same space. For example, instead of five cotton T-shirts, only one wool sweater will fit into the drum. Typically, in the technical specifications for capacity, the manufacturer indicates kilograms, implying that the clothes will be made of cotton. Therefore, you should know that you will fit less items made of synthetics and wool.

Some buyers do not pay attention to such an important indicator as the minimum permissible amount of loaded laundry. But the service life of your washing machine depends on it. As a rule, this is the average value for all models and is equal to 1 - 1.5 kg. Things loaded inside should be evenly distributed over the surface of the drum. Otherwise, when, for example, you wash only one T-shirt, the load on the surface is greater in some places and less in others. This causes a lot of vibration in the washing machine and negatively affects the operation of the entire mechanism. Of course, you can wash even just a pair of socks, but are you ready to often change expensive machine parts?

From an economic point of view, it is most profitable to buy full-size models, but, as often happens, there is simply no room for large-sized equipment. You have to look for a compromise and choose a compact washing machine. It won’t take up a lot of space, but if a lot of things accumulate, then you’ll have to wash them in several passes - and this means extra spending on water and electricity. And vice versa: the larger the washing machine, the cheaper it costs you to wash one kilogram of laundry.

“We wash with water,” they joked in an advertisement for a well-known brand of household appliances about the eternal desire of manufacturers to reduce water and electricity consumption. And to such an extent that there is simply nowhere to reduce it. This is, of course, ironic, but there is no unnecessary money in the family budget. Therefore, economical models of washing machines are still in demand, because the cost of 1 kg of washing depends on this indicator.

According to European standards, there are 7 classes of energy consumption by a washing machine: from A to G. The proportion is simple: the higher the class, the more economical the selected model will be. The indicator is determined based on the calculation if we wash 1 kg of cotton laundry at 60°C.

Table 3 Energy consumption of washing machines

If the machine has a built-in dryer, then the consumption of water and electricity immediately increases. Typically, models that have the first three letters of the Latin alphabet in their characteristics are an order of magnitude higher than their “brothers”.

The same set of Latin letters determines the efficiency of washing. That is, an indicator of how well your washing machine will cope with its direct responsibility - cleaning things from contamination. Accordingly, Class A washing machines will provide you with the highest quality washing and careful treatment of things.

Note! Since 2003, two new subclasses have been introduced into circulation, designated A+ (with a consumption of less than 0.17 kWh) and A++ (less than 0.15 kWh/kg). These models are distinguished by even greater efficiency and washing quality.

Spin rate

Spinning is the final part of washing. This indicator indicates how wet and ironable the laundry will be after washing. And it depends on the number of spin revolutions: you choose them based on the quality of the fabric. Different fabrics have their own spin speed. It is clear that if this is a silk blouse, then it is better to set the speed to a minimum, but the same terry towels do not require such careful treatment, so the speed can be safely increased. If in this case you set the spin speed to low, the item will remain wet and will have to be wrung out by hand.

For cotton and synthetics, 600 rpm is usually sufficient. Items made from rough materials (for example, jeans) are best pressed at a speed of 1000 rpm. By the way, a high degree of spin is also good because it removes the remnants of detergents along with moisture. This will be appreciated by those people who are allergic to detergents.

Note! Look at the minimum number of revolutions that the washing machine you like can make. If the number is high, it means that things made of thin fabric will have to be wrung out manually, unless, of course, you want to ruin your favorite dress.

According to European standards, there are 7 classes of spin efficiency: from A to G. The best are Class A machines: they have a higher drum rotation speed and, accordingly, better spin. Since 1995, spin efficiency classes have been indicated on the Energy Label on each product from a European manufacturer and are measured as a percentage.

Table 4 Spin efficiency classes

Machines marked A and B have the best performance; C, D and E - average; F and G are low.

Drying

Many people, when choosing a washing machine, wonder whether they need this function in principle? On the one hand, it is very convenient, because you remove things from the drum almost dry. All that remains is to stroke them. On the other hand, this function will increase the consumption of electricity. It's up to you to save or not. But since all attention is usually paid to the quality of washing, the presence of this function in the machine is a pleasant addition.

Hot air, passing through wet laundry, absorbs moisture, which then condenses in a tank specially designed for this purpose.

Table 5 Types of drying

Note! Washing machines with dryers have a small drawback: they can only process half of the laundry in this mode if the drum is fully loaded. In this case, the procedure will have to be repeated twice.

Intelligent wash control

Modern models of washing machines have a built-in special microprocessor - the “brain” of your “home assistant”. You press just one button and the built-in electronics do the rest of the work for you. Intelligent control automatically adjusts the wash, making your job easier. The Fuzzy Logic system constantly monitors the process and makes adjustments to it if necessary. All you have to do is indicate the type of fabric before washing, and the smart machine itself will select the mode in which it will wash and the spin speed. It will also constantly analyze the temperature and turbidity of the water and select, depending on the load of the drum, the mode that is most beneficial for you in terms of electricity and water consumption. With such a system, the highest quality washing will cost you the least amount of money.

Note! Typically, machines with the Fuzzy Logic system are $100-150 more expensive than their counterparts without intelligent wash control. But a prudent consumer will immediately understand that the difference in price quickly pays off due to the economical use of resources.

In addition, many models are equipped with a digital display that displays all the information you need about the ongoing washing process. Models with a display are more expensive, so you can choose a washing machine with LEDs, which can also be used to monitor the progress of the wash.

To ensure that you do not encounter any unpleasant surprises while using your washing machine, manufacturers of household appliances equip their models with various modes that are responsible for its safe use. For example, almost all models today feature such functions as:

  • "Protection from children." Like any household appliance, washing machines attract kids, so to prevent them from accidentally messing up the wash cycle and harming themselves, the developers came up with this mode. It's simple: you can lock the device by pressing a certain key combination. You can exit this mode in the same way. If you enable this mode, the “Child Lock” notification will blink on the display at a certain interval.
  • "Protection against leaks." Imagine if suddenly the flexible hose in your washing machine breaks or the tank begins to leak. If you notice this at the last moment, then flooding cannot be avoided, as well as the angry screams of the neighbors whom you will flood. To avoid these unpleasant moments, machines have this function. Protection against leaks can be complete (if something is damaged in the washing machine, water stops flowing into the hoses, and if there is too much water in the tank, protection against overflow is also provided) and partial (into the inlet hoses, in case of a malfunction , water stops flowing, but additional protection against overflow is not provided here).
  • In our reality, when no one is protected from power surges, washing machines are equipped with protection against voltage surges in the electrical network. The machine operates in the voltage range from 170 to 255 W. A useful thing when your washing is shamelessly interrupted by technical problems with the electrical network. Some models remember the stage of the program at which they had to stop. When electricity appears, they continue working from it.
  • Protection against door opening during operation. The lock has a built-in locking device that prevents accidental opening of the lock. This is provided in case the weak lock fails and the door opens, and with it the entire contents of the drum “spill out”. A necessary little thing for those who don’t want to bother with a rag, removing stains and washing things again.

The latest models of washing machines vying with each other to “boast” of their noiselessness. This is convenient: you can do household chores without being distracted by the sounds made by the washing machine. This is especially true for those who have small children. When choosing a car, pay attention to decibels: the fewer, the better. Modern machines have a noise level of 55 decibels when washing, but in some models it reaches a threshold of 63 decibels. And during spinning, this value usually varies from 70 to 76 decibels.

As a rule, washing machines have a standard set of programs that are suitable for any occasion:

  • washing cotton items;
  • washing colored clothes with the ability to choose the appropriate temperature;
  • delicate wash for delicate items;
  • Express wash for those who want to speed up the process.

Actually, this is the consumer washing minimum that everyone needs. Next you need to navigate the situation. For example, you are actively involved in sports, so it is better to wash sneakers and sneakers in the appropriate mode. The effect will be better than if you spend time yourself trying to remove dirt from the surface of the shoe. Therefore, before purchasing equipment, ask whether your future washing machine has a corresponding program. If you try to wash the same sneakers as usual, you risk ruining either them or, what is even sadder and more expensive, the washing machine.

Function Description "Control of balancing of laundry during spinning" The washing machine independently distributes the laundry over the surface of the drum. Only after the load on the walls has become uniform does spinning begin. This program extends the life of your equipment and protects it from breakdowns ahead of time. "Ironing" The function is designed to save you from ironing things. The machine determines the optimal washing conditions for a given type of fabric and reduces the possibility of wrinkles to a minimum. "Self-diagnosis of faults" An icon appears on the display of the washing machine, depending on the malfunction due to which it cannot operate: the drum door is open, the water supply has stopped, or, conversely, there is too much of it. When the washing machine does not have an LCD display, faults will be signaled by LED indicators. When the alarm goes off, it should alert you that it is time to take action.

Thus, you, as a buyer, only have to decide which of all the listed characteristics of washing machines are most important to you and choose the appropriate model. The rest depends only on the price you are willing to pay for this or that device.

This time, on the pages of our blog, we would like to tell you about choosing a washing machine. A washing machine is rightfully one of the most necessary pieces of equipment. Washing a large amount of clothes by hand is very difficult, and besides, it will take a huge amount of time, when the washing machine will solve this issue quickly and independently.

The washing machine washes almost all things, except those that are prohibited from being washed automatically. You can wash in it: bed linen, curtains and curtains, towels, clothes (from underwear to sweaters and down jackets), etc. If you decide to purchase a washing machine, then we will tell you how to choose the right one below.

Types of washing machines

Initially, you need to decide on the type of washing machine. Today there are 2 of them: built-in and separate. Built-in washing machines are designed to be built into furniture, that is, if you do not want the washing machine to take up a lot of space, then it can be hidden, for example, under the sink or in a kitchen cabinet, if there is free space. A separate washing machine is the machine we all know. It’s difficult to say which one is better, since each has its own advantages, it all depends on the installation location. If you choose a machine not based on where to put it, then it is better to give preference to a separate washing machine, and besides, it can be installed in a closet.

Load Type

Next, you will need to determine the type of machine loading. Load type refers to how the laundry will be loaded into the washing machine. There are 2 types of laundry loading: frontal (horizontal) and vertical. Which download type should I choose? Top-loading washing machines are quite compact because they do not require additional space on the side to open the door to load laundry. In addition, such washing machines are more stable, since the drum into which the laundry is loaded has two axes, and not one like front-loading washing machines. But, nevertheless, experts recommend giving preference to a front-loading washing machine, since it has a larger drum for loading laundry, they are more stable, and also have more functions.

How to choose a front-loading automatic washing machine? When choosing a front-loading washing machine model, pay attention to the fact that the lid opens well and closes well - and most importantly, it is airtight and tight. The hatch must be secured internally, not externally. Also pay attention to the size of the hatch; it should be large enough so that bulky items can be conveniently loaded into it.

Dimensions of the washing machine

Before purchasing a washing machine, determine the location in which it will stand. When you have decided on it, measure its length, width and height. Based on these criteria, choose a washing machine so that it fits into the interior of the bathroom or kitchen.

Loaded laundry quantity

The next thing you should know is how much laundry a washing machine can wash in one wash cycle. Standard full-size washing machines allow you to load 5-6 kilograms of laundry - such models are suitable for large families. If you don’t plan to do laundry often and you don’t have a large family, then a machine with a load of 3-4.5 kilograms of laundry will be quite enough. It is worth noting that if you want to purchase a compact, small-sized machine, then it will, of course, have less capacity - about 3-4.5 kilograms.

Washing machine class

Few of us noticed and attached importance to the letters that are depicted on stickers on household appliances. The washing machine has 3 types of classes: washing class, energy consumption class and spin class. Let's look at them in more detail.

Washing class

This class means the degree and quality of washing of the washing machine. Washing machines of class A have the best washing performance, and class B is slightly worse. Class C, D and E machines belong to the middle segment, and F and G belong to the low segment. All Samsung washing machines have a washing class of A.

Electricity consumption class

The class of electricity consumption means the efficiency of the washing machine, that is, the higher the class, the less energy the machine consumes. The most economical cars are class A, which in turn is divided into: A, A+ and A++, the difference in efficiency between them is insignificant. Accordingly, the most economical in terms of energy consumption are washing machines of class A++.

Spin class

Well, the last class is the spin class. Spin class means how much moisture will remain in the laundry after spinning. There are quite a lot of spin classes, as many as 7 of them. Class A means excellent spin quality, class B means a very good spin, and class C means a good spin. As a rule, they do not pay much attention to the spin class, but, nevertheless, make sure that the spin class in the washing machine you choose is not lower than class C.

Heater material

Find out what kind of coating is on the heating element of the washing machine and whether there is any at all. Almost all modern Samsung washing machines have a ceramic-coated spiral; scale simply does not form on a spiral with such a coating, so you don’t need to worry that “bad” water in the form of scale will destroy your washing machine. In addition, with such a spiral you will not need to add special anti-scale agents.

Spin speed

The spin speed is important. When choosing a machine, try to ensure that it makes from 400 to 2000 revolutions per minute. In this case, the speed must be regulated.

Washing modes

The more modes the washing machine you choose includes, the better, so you can easily wash various types of fabrics: cotton, wool, silk, as well as down products (pillows, duvet, down jacket, etc.).

Intelligent wash

Intelligent washing is implemented thanks to the processor installed in the washing machine. Once you have set the washing mode, the intelligent function will determine the weight of the load of laundry and the required amount of water for washing, as well as the approximate time of completion of the washing process.

Economical program

Quite often it happens that you want to wash a lightly soiled item or laundry, but you don’t really want to run a full wash cycle. In this case, an economical program will help you, which allows you to wash the item in an economical mode, thus, the washing time will increase, but the consumption of water, electricity and detergents will decrease.

Express wash

If you need to quickly refresh slightly soiled items and save time, the express wash function will help you.

Balance control

Sometimes during washing, laundry gets bunched up into one lump. Balance control will detect the formation of such a lump and will try to “disassemble” it by rotating the drum back or rotating it at lower speeds. This will help extend the life of the washing machine and wash and dry the laundry efficiently.

If you need to wash a small amount of laundry, the weight of which is half the maximum load weight of the machine, then the half load mode will help in this case. At the same time, you do not need to use all the machine’s resources to the fullest. A half load will wash things faster, saving consumed resources.

Wash stitching

The delay wash function allows the machine to start washing after a certain period of time. This is very convenient if, for example, you don’t want to start washing in the evening and then wait until it’s finished to hang the laundry. To do this, you set the start timer at a time at which the end of the wash will occur in the morning when you wake up. This is also convenient to do if you have different electricity metering tariffs.

Wash completion signal

A very useful feature in washing machines that informs you with a sound signal that the wash is complete. Thus, you will not need to periodically check whether the machine has finished washing or not - you can go about your business, and a sound signal will inform you about the end of the wash.

SamsungSilverNano

If you want to choose a washing machine for your home, we recommend that you pay attention to a model that includes Silver Nano technology. Silver Nano is Samsung's proprietary technology, which means that washing machine models use silver ions when washing, which kill all germs and bacteria in laundry. This feature is especially useful if you have small children.

Child lock

If you have a small child and he really likes to press all the buttons, then choose a washing machine model with a child lock feature, thanks to which all machine controls will be blocked.

Surge protection

Probably, few of our readers can boast that they have a stable voltage supply in their apartment or house. It is because of this that we recommend choosing a machine with a surge protection function. That is, if a power surge occurs during washing, the system will protect the electronic components from surges and at the same time turn off the machine. After the voltage has stabilized, you can continue washing from the point where it was interrupted.

Leak protection

If your washing machine includes a leak protection function, then if one occurs, the system will shut off the water supply, thereby eliminating the possibility of severe flooding.

Washing machine warranty

Check with your sales consultant for the warranty period for your washing machine. As a rule, the warranty for such large household appliances from the manufacturer is 3 years.

In turn, we want to give you a little advice. If the store where you purchased the washing machine imposes an additional guarantee on you, then this is a pure siphoning of money. In fact, warranty service is provided to you by the manufacturer, and not by the seller, who is in this case an intermediary. You can also install the washing machine yourself, without the store’s service center employees.

Which washing machine to choose

General characteristics

Installation
There are free-standing and built-in models of washing machines.
Freestanding washing machines are usually installed in the bathroom, less often in the kitchen. As a rule, such equipment costs a little less than built-in models.
Built-in models allow you to maintain a unified interior design. Usually they are completely retracted under the countertop of the kitchen unit, or the front part of the machine can be hidden behind the furniture door (for more details, see “Type of installation”).
Built-in washing machines can only be front-loading.

Embedding type
There are machines that are fully built-in and built under the countertop.
Fully built-in models have a special recess in the body for the baseboard, a removable top panel, and it is also possible to hang the door of the kitchen unit.
Undercounter washing machines have a removable top panel. It can be replaced with a kitchen countertop. The front and control panel of the machine remain uncovered. In practice, these machines come in the form of free-standing models and can be used unbuilt.

Installation height
from 81 to 99 cm
As a rule, this height is about 83 cm. You can set the height more precisely using the adjustable legs of the washing machine.

Removable top cover
The washing machine has a top cover that can be removed. This option applies to freestanding models only. Thanks to the removable panel, the washing machine can be placed under a sink or countertop.

Load Type
Depending on the type of loading, washing machines can be front-loading or vertical.
For front-facing machines, a round hatch is located in the front, through which laundry is loaded. In front of such a car you need additional space for an opening hatch. The ratio of width and height is usually 60 by 85 cm. Based on the depth, front-loading machines are divided into full-size (55-60 cm, loading 5-6 kg), narrow (about 40 cm, loading 4-4.5 kg) and super narrow (30-35 cm, loading 3-3.5 kg). There are also compact models with a height of no more than 70 cm.
For top-loading machines, the opening through which loading is carried out is located at the top of the drum. Such machines are suitable when there is a shortage of space in the room, because... no free space around is required. As a rule, the width of such machines is 40 cm, depth - 60 cm, and loading - about 5-6 kg. However, it is inconvenient to store any items on “vertical” machines, because... They must be removed before each wash.

Activator
Activator-type washing machines, instead of a drum with holes, are equipped with a plastic circle with blades (activators) on the bottom or side of the tank, designed for agitating water and washing powder. Such cars are popular mainly among summer residents and people with cramped living conditions, because... there is no need to connect the washing machine to the water supply (water is poured into the tank manually). In addition, the device is compact and mobile, making it easy to fit into the trunk of a car.

Spin speed
from 1000 to 1200 rpm

Drying
Has a clothes drying function. After drying, the clothes should only be ironed. In this mode, the laundry is evenly processed by a flow of warm air (the air temperature is adjusted depending on the type of fabric). To dry the laundry more evenly, the speed and direction of rotation of the drum changes. In drying mode, increased energy consumption occurs, so it is recommended to install a separate power supply line.

Drying type
There are two types of drying: by residual moisture and by time.
When drying by time, the laundry is treated with warm air for a certain period of time, which is set by the program.
Drying using residual moisture technology involves the use of special thermometers by the washing machine, with the help of which the humidity indicators specified by the washing program are compared with the humidity in the drum. Drying stops as soon as both indicators are equal. This approach allows you to avoid wasting extra energy, which can result in dry laundry. In expensive models, it is possible to regulate the degree of drying of the laundry - from slightly damp to completely dry and ready for use.

Number of drying programs
from 1 to 17
As a rule, drying programs are determined by the type of fabric: wool, cotton, synthetics and others. For each type, the program uses specific settings for the drum rotation speed and supply air temperature. The quick dry program is suitable for all types of fabric.

from 1 to 20.5 kg
The maximum possible weight of dry laundry that can be loaded into the washing machine and when washed without loss of quality.
Washing machines with a load of 5-6 kg have a depth of 55-60 cm. For models with a depth of 33-40 cm, the load is 3-4.5 kg.
Those. When choosing a washing machine, the location for its placement and the amount of laundry that is planned to be washed at a time are taken into account. For machines with a drying function, there is also a separate limitation on the load of laundry to be dried.

The laundry reloading function will allow you to add an additional item to the washing machine drum or remove one that was put in by mistake after starting the washing program.

from 1.5 to 10 kg
As a rule, in machines with a drying function you can wash 4-7 kg of laundry and dry 2-2.5 kg. Typically these machines have a continuous program that includes washing and drying cycles. Therefore, the load of laundry for this program should not exceed the maximum load for drying.

Max. spin speed
from 400 to 2000 rpm
Maximum spin speed. Most washing machines have a spin speed of 400-2000 rpm. Machines from different manufacturers may have different residual moisture values (spin class) at the same rotation speed. It is recommended to spin delicate fabrics at low speeds, so you should pay attention to models with the ability to regulate the spin speed.

Control
There are two types of control: mechanical and electronic.
For mechanically controlled machines, washing parameters are manually set by the user using rotary switches. Each washing program takes a certain amount of time.
With electronic control, the user specifies several basic parameters. Depending on the weight and type of fabric being loaded, the amount of water consumed, the duration of the washing program, temperature and spin intensity are automatically adjusted. Typically, such machines have a display that displays various operating information.
Models with electronic control are more expensive than mechanical ones, but at the same time they use water and electricity more economically.

Intelligent wash control
To control the washing, a special microprocessor is installed in the machine. The user only sets the required program, and the machine itself selects the washing parameters. Using the Fuzzy Logic function, the weight of the loaded laundry is determined depending on the amount of water absorbed by the fabric. With such a system, the washing process is constantly monitored and the program is adjusted. Depending on the load, other washing parameters are adjusted. This allows you to spend less energy, detergents and water.

Color
Color design of the washing machine body. Most models are available in classic white, but for those who like bright colors, manufacturers produce blue, yellow, red, and silver washing machines.

Display

Display
The screen can display information about the selected program, time until the end of the wash, spin intensity and other information.

Type
The display can be text or digital. The first one is usually larger and more informative.

Backlight
The display backlight makes it easier to control the washing machine in a room with insufficient lighting.

Efficiency and energy classes

Energy class
Using this parameter, you can evaluate the efficiency of using a washing machine. There are 9 energy consumption classes in total: A++, A+, A, B and C - from very economical to economical; D - intermediate value; E, F and G - high to very high power consumption. Washing machines with a drying function consume more electricity.

Washing class
The wash class characterizes the degree to which stains are removed from fabric after a standard wash cycle. There are 7 washing classes: A and B - the best washing results; C, D and E - average; F and G are low.

Spin class
The spin class characterizes the residual moisture content of the laundry after a standard washing program. There are 7 spin classes: A - the highest spin efficiency, B - very good, C - good, D, E, F and G - low efficiency. As a rule (but not always), the higher the spin speed of the drum, the higher the efficiency.

Energy consumption
from 0.01 to 141 kWh/kg
The energy consumed by a washing machine per hour during a standard wash cycle. The standard cycle is considered to be washing cotton clothes at 60°C and the maximum load for this model.

Water consumption per wash
from 10 to 145 l
Water consumption for a standard wash cycle. Some modern washing machines wash effectively with little water consumption.

Safety

Leak protection
In the event of a leak, the water supply is turned off, because The water supply and drainage system is controlled by special sensors.

Type of leakage protection
Full protection is usually implemented as follows: water enters and drains through special double hoses with solenoid valves at the ends, which shut off the water supply if the hose is damaged. There are also sensors or floats on the sealed bottom of the washing machine. If liquid gets on them, the water supply is turned off.
With partial protection against leaks, the hoses or body of the washing machine are protected. The hoses can be purchased separately and can be used in many washing machines.

Child lock
Washing machine control panel locking function. As a rule, blocking occurs by simultaneously pressing a key combination. To unlock, you must also press several buttons simultaneously or in a certain sequence.

Balance control
Control of drum balancing during spinning. When laundry forms a tangle during the washing process, the washing machine attempts to untangle and distribute the laundry evenly. However, if this fails, the spin cycle is performed at lower speeds or does not occur at all. This feature extends the life of the machine and reduces noise and vibration levels.

Foam level control
This function ensures high-quality rinsing if the wrong powder or a large amount of detergent was used. After each rinse, the water is drained and the laundry is spun, then the excess foam is pumped out of the drum. Some models perform additional rinses as needed.

Automatic water cooling before draining
Using this function, you can avoid sudden temperature changes in sewer pipes, as a result, their wear is reduced. If the drain occurs in the bathtub, then too hot water can lead to the formation of cracks in the enamel. However, additional time is spent cooling the water, which increases the washing time.

Power Surge Protection
The presence of such a device will be relevant if you experience frequent voltage drops. This will help extend the life of your washing machine.

Washing programs

Number of washing programs
from 1 to 31
Number of washing programs for machines with mechanical control. Washing programs differ in the following parameters: drum rotation speed in wash and spin modes, duration, temperature, amount of rinsing, etc.

Direct injection
The direct injection system ensures that the detergent directly hits the fabric during washing. Thanks to the constant circulation of water during the entire washing process, there is a more uniform and, as a result, economical distribution of liquid detergents, powder and water in general.

Bio phase
“Bio-phase” is a temperature stage during the washing process lasting 10-15 minutes. It is suitable for using detergents with bioadditives (enzymes), and is designed for high-quality removal of organic contaminants. The action of enzymes is most effective at a temperature of 40°C.
There are four main types of dietary supplements: protease (for removing protein contaminants), lipase (for fats), amylase (breaks down carbohydrates) and cellulase (smoothes fabric fibers and prevents pilling).
The bio-phase can be added to any wash program, automatically included in all programs or used separately.

Steam supply
Steam technology (“Steam”) is a system for supplying steam to the drum of a washing machine, due to which up to 99.9% of harmful bacteria and microbes are removed from fabric surfaces. In addition, the system allows you to save energy and water consumption, reduce washing time and improve its quality.

Bubble wash
In washing machines with this function, bubbles are released using a special generator. They rise from the bottom, pass through the fabric and remove dirt. At the same time, the drum does not rotate, as a result of which the laundry wears out little. However, the washing quality is not very high. Such washing machines are usually connected to hot and cold water, because... They do not heat the water themselves.

Economical program
The Economy program is used for normally soiled laundry. Eco mode uses a longer wash cycle, but uses a lower temperature, which reduces energy consumption.

Express wash
Using the "express wash" you can quickly and effectively wash lightly soiled laundry. This program may be useful when you only need to slightly refresh your laundry. This will save time.

Night mode
A washing mode in which the machine performs only quiet phases of washing, skipping spinning, including intermediate stages that must be performed between rinses, but at the same time, the number of rinses automatically increases, ensuring good rinsing of the washing powder. Before the final spin, the machine will leave water in the tank, and in the morning you will need to run the spin cycle to complete the wash.

Prewash
Pre-wash can be used before the main program for heavily soiled laundry. In some machine models, this step can be added to any program or used separately.

Soak
The soak program is carried out before the main wash for heavily soiled laundry. Soaking time may vary. The soaking program can be completed with a short spin.

Removing stains
During this program, the drum rotates intensively, which allows you to remove even the most stubborn and old stains from any type of fabric. You can also use special detergents or bulk stain removers for better results.

Extra rinse
The extra rinse function allows you to completely remove any remaining detergent from clothes, which will be especially important for people with sensitive skin.

Wash in plenty of water
The wash program with plenty of water is suitable for delicate or heavily soiled laundry. This program may be needed when there are small children or allergy sufferers in the family.

Starching laundry
When working on the starching program, the machine takes in water, creates a solution with special treatment agents and drains the water. For better results, you can use special products for starching laundry.

Preventing creases
An anti-crease phase can be added to programs. When the spin cycle is complete, the drum continues to rotate slowly, loosening the laundry and creating fewer wrinkles. Thanks to this, the laundry is easier to iron.

Washing delicate fabrics
The delicates program ensures gentle washing of thin, delicate and woolen fabrics. Washing delicate fabrics occurs by selecting the appropriate temperature, soft wash cycle, required amount of water and gentle spin. Also, gentle handling is ensured by the slow speed of rotation of the drum and long pauses between rotations.

Washing mixed fabrics
The washing machine allows you to wash mixed fabrics, which are formed by mixing natural and synthetic materials.

Washing children's clothes
To preserve the softness of fabrics, washing is done in large quantities of water and at high temperatures.

Washing outerwear
For washing jackets, coats, thick trousers and skirts, a particularly gentle wash is used, during which the fabric will not wrinkle or shrink.

Washing sports shoes
A special program for washing sports shoes provides for such a mode of operation of the washing machine in which the shoes do not collide with each other during washing, thereby maintaining the integrity of the shoes.

Washing sportswear
Especially for breathable fabrics such as sportswear, the program will use a low temperature pre-wash.

Washing jeans
The washing machine allows you to wash denim.
The program is characterized by a delicate washing mode (water temperature 30-40°C) and low spin intensity. In this case, the fabric is not deformed.

Washing pillows
The program is designed specifically for washing pillows, as well as blankets and other bulky items with artificial or down filling.

Washing down items
The washing machine allows you to wash blankets, pillows and other bulky items with down or artificial filling.
The program is characterized by a washing mode at high temperatures and gradual spinning with an increasing number of revolutions.

Washing silk
The washing machine allows you to wash silk.
The program is characterized by a washing cycle that uses a large amount of water to dissolve the detergent or powder to ensure the most gentle effect on the fabric. As a rule, this mode eliminates heating water to high temperatures and subsequent spinning.

Black laundry program
The black wash program provides a gentle wash at low temperatures to protect the color saturation. Some machine models additionally provide for pre-soaking.

Washing wool
Using this program, you can carefully wash woolen items without exposing them to excessive mechanical and temperature stress. Wool products will not lose their shape and quality. Delicate washing is carried out due to smooth washing mechanics, optimal water dosage and reduced rotation speed.

Selecting the washing temperature
Possibility to select the washing temperature. This function is very convenient, because... allows you to select your own temperature mode for the same washing program depending on the fabric.

Spin speed selection
Possibility to select the spin speed. This function is needed when spinning delicate and woolen fabrics.

Spin cancel program
Availability of a program without spinning. This program is needed for fabrics that are not recommended to be wrung out.

Delayed start
Possibility to delay the start of the washing program.

Max. delay start time
from 3 to 24 hours
The maximum time for which the start of a washing program can be delayed. Typically this value ranges from 12 to 24 hours.

Setting the end time for washing
Some manufacturers offer the ability to set the end time of the wash as an alternative to the delayed start function (see "Delayed start").
You don't have to calculate the minutes spent on this or that program: you can accurately set the time when the laundry or clothes will be washed. So, for example, you can set the end of washing by the time you wake up: in the morning you will only have to take out and hang up the freshly washed laundry.

End of wash signal
When the wash cycle is completed, the machine emits a sound and light signal.

Design

Inverter motor
The presence of an inverter motor in the washing machine.
The inverter motor has less wear due to the absence of brushes. Advantages: no friction of motor parts, low noise level, long service life.

Direct drive
The presence of direct drive in the washing machine.
Direct drive involves connecting the motor directly to the drum without the use of pulleys or a drive belt. Advantages: no wearing parts, low probability of machine breakdown, low noise level. Disadvantages: more expensive compared to machines with a drive belt, expensive repairs.

Tank material
During washing, the drum with laundry rotates in the washing machine tank.
Typically, the tank of washing machines is made of various types of plastic (carborane, polynox, polyplex, fiber, carferron, polytenax, carbotex, etc.). Many of these types of plastics are practically no different from each other, because... they are patented by the manufacturers. The advantages of plastic tanks: low weight, low cost and good heat and sound insulation properties. The disadvantage is low impact resistance.
Some washing machines have stainless steel tanks. However, this steel can be of different quality. The price of the washing machine depends on this. High quality steel is more durable. In cheaper models, steel tanks have poor seam welding quality, and as a result are less reliable than plastic ones.
Washing machine tanks can also be made of metal-plastic. The properties of this material are intermediate between plastic and stainless steel.

Drum lighting
Interior lighting of the washing machine drum.

Automatic drum positioning
The top-loading washing machine automatically stops the drum with the flaps facing up for easy removal of laundry after the end of washing.

Loading hatch diameter
from 3 to 50.5 cm
Diameter of the front washing machine hatch. The wider the hatch, the more convenient it is to load and unload laundry. However, a hatch with a larger diameter will require more space when opening.

Smooth opening of the doors
The drum flaps on a top-loading washing machine open gently by pressing a button, providing safe access to laundry.

Hatch opening 180 degrees
Possibility of opening the hatch 180 degrees for front washing machines. This is convenient when loading and unloading laundry, but there must be free space in front and on the sides of the machine so that nothing prevents the door from opening 180 degrees.

Opening the hatch to the right
The device door opens from left to right.
In most washing machine models, the hatch opens from right to left by default. Opening the door to the right allows you to conveniently use the washing machine if there is a wall or other large objects to the left of it.

Number of compartments for detergents
from 2 to 4
The number of compartments for filling and pouring detergents, such as powder, rinse aid, etc. The number of compartments usually ranges from 2 to 4 pieces.

Liquid powder compartment
The washing machine is equipped with a compartment for liquid detergents. The liquid powder is poured into a special container, from which the product is fed into the drum and distributed evenly throughout the fabric, without focusing on just one area.

Automatic detergent dosage
A system that allows you to automatically determine the exact amount of detergent required for each wash. Used only for washing with liquid detergents.

The presence of wheels/rollers on the body
The presence of wheels or rollers on the body is intended for easy movement of the washing machine.

Noise level

When washing
from 39 to 76 dB
The noise level that a washing machine makes when running a normal wash programme. During the spin cycle, the noise level increases sharply. The noise level varies from 43 to 76 dB.

When spinning
from 55 to 88 dB
Noise level when spinning clothes at maximum speed (see "Maximum rotation speed"). Models with low noise levels are considered washing machines in which this parameter does not exceed 70 dB.

Dimensions

Height
from 36 to 192 cm
Typically, the height of a washing machine is 85 cm. There are compact models whose height is no more than 70 cm. They are designed to be placed under the sink. Also, for built-in models, the height can be adjusted using adjustable legs.

Width
from 30 to 102 cm
For front-loading machines, the width is about 60 cm, for compact ones - about 50 cm, and for “vertical” models - 40 cm. Compact models have a loading capacity of 3-3.5 kg.

Depth
from 29 to 91 cm
By depth, front-loading machines are divided into full-size (55-60 cm, loading 5-6 kg), narrow (about 40 cm, loading 4-4.5 kg) and super-narrow (30-35 cm, loading 3-3.5 kg). In front of such a car you need additional space for an opening hatch. The depth of top-loading machines is usually 60 cm.

Weight
from 4.5 to 149 kg
If the machine is light in weight, it may vibrate during the spin cycle, but this disadvantage can be eliminated with proper installation. Weight also needs to be taken into account when transporting.
