As mentioned above, the author already had experience in making a moped with a chainsaw engine, but the design was not so successful, and the maximum speed was about 35 km/h, the appearance also left much to be desired. The author affectionately calls his brainchild “Stool”))

I wanted to create something more interesting and practical, and in appearance it would look like a real moped or chopper, so that it would not be a shame to ride on such a vehicle on the street, but on the contrary, to catch the smiles and admiring glances of passers-by) This one was taken as an example and basis "bobber"

After that, a sketch was drawn up on a piece of paper with a regular ballpoint pen, and everything that needed to be radically changed and added was drawn.

What remained of the old frame was the lower part welded from professional pipe; bicycle wheels and rear and front forks were added to the new design. During the first day of work, the author welded the frame, installed the tank, headlight, and wheels.

All the parts were naturally old and even rare, the welds also needed to be cleaned, and then the prepared surface was painted in several layers with periodic drying with spray paint, the master used Montana paint.

Also, after painting, when the frame had dried, another layer of matte varnish was applied, also from a spray can.

The bicycle wheels were also old; it was also decided to paint them; first, the rim was sealed with masking tape and the wheel spokes were painted.

The wheels were also painted and hung on a rope to dry faster.

I assembled all the painted parts into a single structure and this is what happened.

But after working for several days, the engine unfortunately died, because it was also very ancient and probably its natural time had come to go for spare parts and remelting.

The engine was good, but I had to part with it.

In its place, I installed a new engine from the same Druzhba chainsaw, only newer from 1992, it had been stored away since the winter and now its finest hour has come)

As they say, “Oh, trouble, trouble, disappointment.” What to do? First of all, the author changed the gear ratio on the chain gearbox, consisting of bicycle sprockets and a chain.

It didn't help much, so that's not the reason. And then the idea came to water-cool the chainsaw engine. But how can this be implemented? In general, the author does the following, namely, he takes a plastic bottle and connects 2 hoses to it, one in the upper part for air intake, and the second in the lower part for supplying water through a dropper to the cylinder head of the Druzhba chainsaw engine. This kind of drip irrigation)) But according to the author, the engine has stopped heating up at high speeds and feels great.
