How to properly disassemble a light bulb: instructions for disassembling various types of lamps. How to change a light bulb: practical tips and tricks How to change long lamps

Almost every suspended or suspended ceiling uses spotlights. The lifespan of any technical device is not infinite, and sooner or later the light bulb will need to be replaced. The task is not difficult: you can change it yourself, adhering to certain rules.

Types of lamps

There are several types of lamps used for home lighting. In addition to conventional incandescent lamps, these are LED, halogen and fluorescent light sources.

Incandescent lamps

This is the most common and affordable way to illuminate a home. Light in incandescent light bulbs is emitted by a heated tungsten conductor (made of refractory tungsten-based alloys).

Such devices can withstand power surges and are quite inexpensive. Another advantage of an incandescent light bulb is that it lights up quickly after voltage is applied.

However, the efficiency of this light source is extremely low: only 4%. In addition, incandescent lamps do not have a very long service life - it does not exceed a thousand hours. As a result, light bulbs have to be changed frequently.

LED bulbs

LED light sources are also called semiconductor light sources. They are the most harmless to the consumer’s eyes and are environmentally friendly.

Although manufacturing companies claim an 11-year lifespan for LED lamps, the actual lifespan is much lower and does not exceed 3–4 years. The fact is that already in the fourth (on average) year of operation of the light bulb, the LED begins to degrade, losing brightness and light.

The disadvantage of LED lamps is their high cost. Prices for LEDs vary greatly, but the minimum price for a lamp does not fall below 300 rubles, and can reach up to 2000 rubles. LEDs provide a narrow, concentrated beam of light. This dictates the need to purchase multiple lamps to ensure uniform illumination of the room, which further increases costs.

Note! Due to the high cost, an LED light bulb pays for itself no earlier than 5 years after purchase.

Halogen lamps

Halogen light sources have a high level of light output - more significant than incandescent lamps. A halogen light bulb is a quartz flask with an inert gas environment. There are also halogens or related compounds in the container. This composition slows down the process of evaporation of the incandescent element, which allows you to extend the service life of this lighting source.

Halogen lamps are divided into two categories:

  1. Up to 24 volts (low voltage).
  2. Over 24 volts (mains voltage devices).

According to design features, halogen lighting sources are divided into four types:

  1. Linear (from 1 to 20 kW). They are not used for interior spaces of buildings, as they give too high brightness).
  2. With external bulb (mains voltage bulbs).
  3. With a directed beam of light. Equipped with aluminum or interference reflector. Used for accented - spot - lighting.
  4. Finger. Characterized by small sizes.

Fluorescent lamps

They are gas-discharge light sources equipped with starting adjustment devices. Most often supplied with E14 or E27 sockets.

The disadvantage of fluorescent devices is their low power, which dictates the need to purchase a large number of lamps.

Comparison of different lamps

The lowest efficiency is typical for incandescent lamps. Halogen lamps also have low efficiency. LED light sources consume a lot of electricity, but show good efficiency. In addition, LEDs are characterized by high durability.

The table shows the main characteristics of different types of lamps.

The most affordable option is an incandescent light bulb. However, to save energy, it is most profitable to purchase halogen lamps.

Types of socles

An important parameter for a lighting source is the type of base. There are three types of bases - screw, bayonet and pin. Each of them has its own diameter and fastening method.

The most famous and widespread type of base is the screw one. It is used in incandescent lamps. A bayonet connector is actually a subtype of a screw connector; it consists of protrusions on the connector and grooves on the cartridge. Pin sockets have become popular recently due to the proliferation of halogen and LED lamps. There are seven different types of pin connectors on the market.

The figure shows the available standard sizes of pin sockets.

Note! All light sources when replaced must have the same type of base. None of them are interchangeable. Otherwise, you will have to change not only the light bulb, but also the base.

Features of working with stretch and suspended ceilings

To replace a lamp in a suspended ceiling, you must first remove the retaining ring, which is a wire spring. This must be done carefully, as the spring may slip out of your fingers and get lost. After this, carefully remove the light bulb from the base using slightly rocking movements so as not to crush it or damage the ceiling surface.

In many cases, dismantling the lamp is enough to remove it from the mounting hole. The lamp is fixed in the spot using spring brackets. It is necessary to pry one of the edges of the lamp and gently pull it down. Once the springs become visible, they should be compressed to release the bulb.

There are also lamps without brackets. They are equipped with threaded bases. To remove such a lamp from a suspended ceiling, you will need a piece of non-slip fabric, which is placed on the body of the lamp when unscrewing it. This measure allows you to protect your hands from damage from fragments (if the lamp bursts), and also prevents your fingers from slipping.

In a suspended ceiling, lamps are most often held on a supporting surface, so when dismantling, although care must be taken, the risk of damage to the ceiling material is low. Replacing a light bulb follows the same principle as in the case of a suspended ceiling.

When carrying out such work, you should remember the safety rules. Turn off the power supply to the panel. To reach the ceiling, you will need a reliable, stable footrest, table or ladder.

Advice! When working with drywall surfaces, it is recommended to use safety glasses.

Replacing the LED lamp

First, turn off the power supply to the apartment network. To perform the work you will need a chair or stepladder. When working with suspended ceilings, you must be careful not to damage the material.

Replacing the lamp is carried out as follows:

  1. Unlock the lamp from its mounts (the light bulb is secured with a special ring).
  2. Slowly unscrew the old light source. Then install a new lamp in its place.
  3. To insert a new light bulb, perform the above steps in reverse order. When the lamp is installed, the retaining ring must be returned to its original place.

Replacing a halogen lamp

Replacing halogen-type spotlights is practically no different from the same actions with any other light sources. Before replacing a halogen light bulb, turn off the power supply to the apartment. Then carefully remove the mount holding the lamp, remove the lamp from the socket and install a new one in the same place.

When replacing a halogen lamp, remember not to touch its glass surface. The fact is that halogen light sources operate at high temperatures, and if a little grease from your fingers gets on the surface of the bulb, the bulb will inevitably overheat and fail. If contact does occur, you need to thoroughly wipe the affected surfaces with alcohol.

Features of dismantling the chandelier

Work order:

  1. If the chandelier is fixed on a hook, remove the protective cap and feel for the hook in the niche that appears. Pull out the wiring so that it is in sight and disconnect the conductors. After this, release the chandelier from its fastenings.
  2. If the chandelier is supported by cross-shaped slats, first remove the shade, light bulbs and decorative elements from it. After this, remove the cap hiding the clamps. All that remains is to unscrew the screws, remove the insulation and disconnect the wires. Now there is nothing holding the chandelier and it can be removed.

Advice! If the lighting fixture is bulky or heavy, it is recommended to work with an assistant.

Changing a light bulb to a new one is easy, following these recommendations:

  1. If the suspended ceiling has mirror elements, special care will be required to avoid damaging the surface. Stretch ceilings are also sensitive to mechanical stress.
  2. To achieve harmony in the transmission of light, it is recommended to use the same type of light sources, even light bulbs of the same model. If you cannot find the right light bulb to illuminate a room, it is better to replace all light sources in the room. Otherwise, the lighting will be uneven and irritating to the eyes. Therefore, it is recommended to buy lamps with a reserve, so that just because of one light bulb you do not have to change all the others in the room.
  3. If LEDs are installed in the ceiling, but their total power is not enough, it is recommended to purchase white devices instead of standard light bulbs with a yellow glow. The brightness of such lamps is subjectively higher, but their power is the same.
  4. To ensure that the light source lasts longer, do not handle it with bare hands when installing it. We recommend using gloves or a clean, dry cloth.
  5. Stretch ceilings are not very compatible with powerful lamps. To avoid damaging the material, it is advisable to avoid installing light bulbs more powerful than 35 W.

To ensure that light sources built into the ceiling last as long as possible, it is recommended to follow these rules:

  1. Calculate the number of lamps in advance. If the load is too great, the lamps will quickly become unusable.
  2. Don't skimp on lighting. High-quality products are more expensive, but they pay off with reliability in operation.
  3. Electrical wiring and sockets are no less important elements of lighting than lamps. Their purchase and installation must be taken seriously.
  4. The lamps must not overheat excessively. Even if the apartment has expensive lighting equipment, it needs technological breaks from work.

Replacing a light bulb is a simple operation, accessible even to a novice home DIYer. But it also requires attention, accuracy and consistency.

Replacing a light bulb in a lamp - it would seem, what could be simpler? However, even in this matter people face problems. How to choose and how to change a light bulb? What nuances should be taken into account when replacing lighting in a particular room? What to do if you need to replace the lamp built into a pendant

Types of lamps used

How do different types of lighting devices differ and what are their pros and cons?

  • One of the most famous types of lighting devices is a glass bulb, inside of which there is a spiral, most often made of tungsten. The action of electric current causes the coil to heat up and emit a warm yellow light. The main advantages are low cost and accessibility for the buyer, but the disadvantages are low efficiency: much more electricity is spent on heating the air than on light output, and the lamp has a short lifespan.
  • A more modern and advanced type of standard incandescent lamps. The tungsten filament is placed in a flask filled with halogens - vapors of bromine, iodine, chlorine, which increase the evaporation time of the tungsten filament and significantly extend the service life of the device. The light is more even and bright, similar to daylight. The main obstacle to the widespread use of halogen lamps is their cost - it is significantly higher than the cost of incandescent lamps.
  • They got their name due to the substance phosphor, which allows you to convert energy into light. They are famous for their good efficiency indicators: even low lamp power gives good illumination indicators. Nowadays a large number of compact versions are produced, adapted for standard sockets in lamps. An important feature of the operation of such a lamp is the content of mercury vapor inside the bulb, so they must be disposed of at special collection points.
  • This model has lower energy consumption and good light performance. These lamps are much more durable than incandescent lamps and are the best option for use. However, their cost is even higher than the cost of halogen lamps: the price of one piece varies from 250 to 700 rubles.

Each of the listed types of lamps has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. Despite the obvious advantage in terms of service life and environmental friendliness of modern halogen and LED lighting devices, people are stopped by factors such as their high cost. Also, people often have no idea how to work with such varieties and how to change a light bulb. It is often worth paying attention to the energy consumption in individual areas of the house. Halogen light bulbs are perfect for kitchens and rooms, as they have the best balance of durability, energy savings and cost. Before changing the light bulb in the bathroom or toilet, you need to understand what level of illumination should be provided. If buying LED elements is too expensive, you can replace them with halogen lamps, which provide good overall light and are quite durable.

How are the lamps attached?

How to change a light bulb in a chandelier? To do this, you need to know what types of lighting fixtures there are. There are several ways. The most famous is the mount with a right-hand thread, when the light bulb is screwed into the socket clockwise. Before you change a light bulb, you need to understand what type it is: when installing an incandescent or energy-saving lamp, you should not press on it; to secure it, you just need to turn it clockwise. In addition, there is a fixation option with two guide pins: they are placed in the groove, and then it is installed with a click. The third type of light bulb requires a 90-degree rotation after placing it in the groove.

Suspended ceiling

First of all, you need to ensure your own safety by turning off the power supply and arranging your workplace in such a way that it is convenient to work. Convenience of work is extremely important, since the procedure must be carried out carefully and accurately so as not to damage the ceiling covering. This is especially important when replacing lighting fixtures mounted in suspended and suspended ceilings. At the first stage of work, it is necessary to unlock the ring that secures the lamp in the housing. After this, it is carefully turned out and replaced with a new one. It is necessary to determine the power of the lamp when replacing it in order to ensure the same level of illumination in the room. Upon completion of the procedure, it is necessary to fix the ring back, securing the light bulb in the socket.

When purchasing an LED element, be sure to check the combustion quality by pointing your phone camera at the lamp. If the light pulsates, it probably won't last long due to poor build quality, so it's worth purchasing another one. When choosing lighting fixtures for a room, it is better to choose lamps of the same type and model: then the illumination and light temperature will be harmonious. How to change a light bulb to provide more illumination in a room? To do this, it is not necessary to choose a more powerful or capacious element. It is enough to replace all yellow light lamps with white light devices: this will help increase the luminous flux and achieve a higher level of illumination.

How to change a light bulb in a suspended ceiling?

To change a light bulb in a suspended ceiling, you don’t have to turn to professionals for help. You can do this yourself. Depending on the type of lamp installed, replacement instructions will vary.

Getting a regular incandescent lamp is not difficult, but before replacing other types of lamps, it is better to read the step-by-step instructions.

For what reasons are light bulbs replaced?

Stretch ceiling is a modern design solution that can decorate any interior. When choosing lighting, there is a lot of room for imagination - from a chandelier, LED strip to spotlights of different sizes and shapes.

But sooner or later you have to change the light bulbs. Why is this happening?

  • The lamp is out of order. This is the most common reason, so you shouldn’t skimp on buying a lamp. Then the replacement procedure will have to be carried out very rarely.
  • Change of interior. This is a common reason that requires dismantling old lamps. But you don't have to remove all the bulbs. Sometimes the solution may be to buy covers for spotlights, which will give them an updated look. As for the chandelier, here you can remake each lampshade or purchase new ones.
  • And another reason why lamp dismantling is inevitable is replacing the entire blade. It is impossible to replace a suspended ceiling with a new one without affecting the lamps.

If for any of these reasons it was decided to replace the lamp with another, then you should familiarize yourself in detail with the rules for dismantling each type of lamp. In this way, serious mistakes will be avoided.

Replacing a halogen lamp

This is one of the most popular lamp options, which is often used in spotlights. It has high power, hence the short service life. To replace it with a new one, you need to follow simple rules.

  • First you need to turn off the electricity in the room.
  • Before work, you should wear cotton gloves, because the body of the halogen emitter has a high temperature. Do not touch the surface of the light bulb without gloves.
  • Only after this the fastenings are removed, the old lamp is unscrewed and replaced with a new one.
  • The new model is fixed with fastenings.
  • It should be taken into account that the body of the halogen lamp must be at a distance from the canvas of at least ten centimeters.

Replacing the LED lamp

Such lamps are convenient and profitable because they do not require a lot of electricity. This means they will last a long time.

But nothing lasts forever, so sooner or later this light bulb will have to be replaced with a new one. How to do it?

  • First, you need to make sure that the electricity in the room is turned off.
  • If you are replacing a light bulb in the evening, it is better to take a flashlight with you to make it easier to navigate.
  • After this, you need to remove the fastenings of the old lamp.
  • Then the insulation from the wiring is removed.
  • Afterwards it is necessary to disconnect the wires.
  • In order not to act “blindly”, it is better to read the instructions for the new lamp.
  • Then directly insert the new LED lamp.
  • Then you need to connect the necessary wiring and attach the cover with screws.

Despite the fact that LED lamps require periodic replacement, they are still more economical and are very popular among owners of suspended ceilings.

Replacing a spotlight

Working with this type of lighting device will require a little more skill.

  • First you need to disassemble the box, disconnect the wiring and remove the old lamp.
  • For a new lamp, you need to open the box and connect wires of the same color.
  • Then, using special pliers, you need to crimp and close the wiring with a cap.
  • When all the wiring is in the box under the cover, you can install the light bulbs.
  • Then you need to fix the lamp in the ceiling spot. Its power should not exceed that indicated on the flask.
  • After finishing work, you can turn on the voltage.

To properly remove the spotlight and screw in a new one, you need to take precautions.

  • Turn off the electricity before replacing the lamp, otherwise there may be an electric shock.
  • The lamp must be held by the springs, otherwise they will damage both your fingers and the ceiling.

By following these simple rules, you will be able to easily unscrew the spotlight.

Which dismantling is considered incorrect?

Some people mistakenly believe that replacing a light fixture requires cutting the fabric around it. But this option is not only wrong, but also dangerous. Why?

  • Firstly, it will be almost impossible to restore the canvas after such a procedure.
  • Secondly, if you touch the wrong wire, you can get a serious electric shock.
  • The new lamp must be larger in diameter, because the installation location will increase due to the cut, and the old lamp size will not fit.
  • If the product is under warranty, then after such intervention it will no longer be valid.

With such an impact, the entire stretch ceiling may be irreparably damaged and the only way out will be to replace it with a new one. Therefore, if you are unsure of your abilities, it is better not to take risks, but to seek help from professionals.

How to remove a chandelier from a stretch ceiling?

It happens that to replace a lamp it is necessary to remove the chandelier. You can do this yourself, following the recommendations.

  • If the chandelier hangs on a hook, then after removing the protective cap you need to reach it with your hand and grab onto this fastener. After removing the chandelier from the hook, you need to work with the wiring, disconnecting them.

  • If the chandelier has a cross-shaped strip, then its dismantling will be a little more difficult. First, the lamp must be freed from the shade, lamp and other decorations. Only after this the cap is unscrewed and the fastening system is disconnected (you just need to unscrew the screws). Then, by analogy, work with wires occurs.
  • Experts advise not to purchase flat horizontal chandeliers for suspended ceilings, especially with incandescent and halogen lamps. Their heat can cause the fabric to melt.

When replacing a light bulb on a suspended ceiling, it is worth considering some more nuances.

  • If the suspended ceiling has mirror elements, then you need to change the lamps carefully to avoid damaging the surface.
  • It is better that the lamps are the same, otherwise the light supply will be uneven. In addition, uniformity always looks more aesthetically pleasing. If you cannot find the right lamp, it makes sense to replace everything.
  • It is better to work with gloves. This way the lamp will have a long service life.
  • Lamps with high power do not fit well with a suspended ceiling. It is not recommended to screw in a lamp with a power higher than 35 watts, otherwise there is a risk of damage to the material.
  • For preventive purposes, you should not overheat the devices unnecessarily, since any equipment needs a break in operation.
  • It is better not to skimp on quality lamps. They will last longer and will have to be replaced less often.

Thus, replacing a light bulb is not as difficult as it seems at first glance. The main thing is to strictly follow the recommendations, and everything will work out.

For information on how to change a light bulb in a suspended ceiling, see below.

If an old Soviet lamp with fluorescent fluorescent lamps such as LB-40, LB-80 is out of order, or you are tired of changing the starter in it, recycling the lamps themselves (and you can’t just throw them in the trash for a long time), then you can easily convert to LED.

The most important thing is that fluorescent and LED lamps have the same bases - G13. Unlike other types of pin contacts, no modifications to the housing are required.

  • G- means pins are used as contacts
  • 13 is the distance in millimeters between these pins

Benefits of remodeling

In this case you will receive:

  • greater illumination
  • lower losses (almost half of the useful energy in fluorescent lamps can be lost in the choke)
  • absence of vibration and unpleasant rattling sound from the ballast throttle

True, more modern models already use electronic ballast. They have increased efficiency (90% or more), noise has disappeared, but energy consumption and luminous flux have remained at the same level.

For example, new models of such LPO and LVO are often used for Armstrong ceilings. Here is a rough comparison of their effectiveness:

Another advantage of LEDs is that there are models designed for supply voltages from 85V to 265V. For fluorescent you need 220V or close to it.

For such LEDs, even if your network voltage is low or too high, they will start and shine without any complaints.

Luminaires with electromagnetic ballasts

What should you pay attention to when converting simple fluorescent lamps to LED lamps? First of all, its design.

If you have a simple old Soviet-style lamp with starters and an ordinary (not electronic ballast) choke, then in fact there is no need to modernize anything.

Simply pull out the starter, select a new LED lamp to fit the overall size, insert it into the housing and enjoy brighter and more economical lighting.

If the starter is not removed from the circuit, then when replacing the LB lamp with an LED one, a short circuit can be created.

It is not necessary to dismantle the throttle. For an LED, the current consumption will be in the range of 0.12A-0.16A, and for a ballast, the operating current in such old lamps is 0.37A-0.43A, depending on the power. In fact, it will act as an ordinary jumper.

After all the rework, you still have the same lamp. There is no need to change the fixture on the ceiling, and you no longer have to dispose of burnt lamps and look for special containers for them.

Such lamps do not require separate drivers and power supplies, since they are already built-in inside the housing.

The main thing is to remember the main feature - for LEDs, two pin contacts on the base are rigidly connected to each other.

And with fluorescent they are connected by a filament. When it gets hot, mercury vapor ignites.

In models with electronic ballasts, a filament is not used and the gap between the contacts is pierced by a high voltage pulse.

The most common sizes of such tubes are:

  • 300mm (used in table lamps)

  • 900mm and 1200mm

The longer they are, the brighter the glow.

Conversion of a lamp with electronic ballast

If you have a more modern model, without a starter, with an electronic ballast throttle (electronic ballast), then you will have to tinker a little with changing the circuit.

What is inside the lamp before alteration:

  • throttle
  • wires
  • contact blocks-cartridges on the sides of the case

The throttle is what will need to be thrown out first. Without it, the entire structure will significantly lose weight. Unscrew the mounting screws or drill out the rivets, depending on the fastener.

Then disconnect the power wires. To do this, you may need a screwdriver with a narrow blade.

You can use these wirings and just eat them with pliers.

The connection diagram for the two lamps is different; with the LED lamp everything is much simpler:

The main task that needs to be solved is to supply 220V to different ends of the lamp. That is, the phase is on one terminal (for example, the right one), and the zero is on the other (left).

It was said earlier that an LED lamp has both pin contacts inside the base, connected to each other by a jumper. Therefore, here it is impossible, as in a fluorescent one, to supply 220V between them.

To verify this, use a multimeter. Set it to resistance measurement mode, and touch the two terminals with the measuring probes and take measurements.

The display should display the same values as when the probes are connected to each other, i.e. zero or close to it (taking into account the resistance of the probes themselves).

A fluorescent lamp, between two terminals on each side, has a resistance filament, which, after applying 220V voltage through it, heats up and “starts” the lamp.

  • without dismantling cartridges
  • with dismantling and installing jumpers through their contacts

Without dismantling

The easiest way is without dismantling, but you will have to buy a couple of Wago clamps.
In general, bite out all the wires suitable for the cartridge at a distance of 10-15mm or more. Next, insert them into the same Vago clamp.

Do the same with the other side of the lamp. If the wago terminal block does not have enough contacts, you will have to use 2 pieces.

After this, all that remains is to feed a phase into the clamp on one side and zero on the other.

No Vago, just twist the wires under the PPE cap. With this method, you do not need to deal with the existing circuit, jumpers, get into the cartridge contacts, etc.

With dismantling the cartridges and installing jumpers

The other method is more scrupulous, but does not require any extra costs.

Remove the side covers from the lamp. This must be done carefully, because... In modern products, the latches are made of brittle and breakable plastic.

After which, you can dismantle the contact cartridges. Inside them there are two contacts that are isolated from each other.

Such cartridges can be of several varieties:

All of them are equally suitable for lamps with G13 socket. There may be springs inside them.

First of all, they are needed not for better contact, but to ensure that the lamp does not fall out of it. Plus, due to the springs, there is some compensation for the length. Since it is not always possible to produce identical lamps with millimeter accuracy.

Each cartridge has two power cables. Most often, they are attached by snapping into special contacts without screws.

You turn them clockwise and counterclockwise, and with some force, pull one of them out.

As mentioned above, the contacts inside the connector are isolated from each other. And by dismantling one of the wiring, you actually leave only one contact socket.

All current will now flow through the other contact. Of course, everything will work on one, but if you are making a lamp for yourself, it makes sense to improve the design a little by installing a jumper.

Thanks to it, you don’t have to make contact by turning the LED lamp from side to side. The double connector ensures a reliable connection.

The jumper can be made from the extra power wires of the lamp itself, which you will definitely have left over as a result of the rework.

Using a tester, you check that after installing the jumper, there is a circuit between the previously isolated connectors. Do the same with the second plug-in contact on the other side of the lamp.

The main thing is to make sure that the remaining power wire is no longer phase, but zero. You bite off the rest.

Fluorescent lamps with two, four or more lamps

If you have a two-lamp lamp, it is best to supply voltage to each connector with separate conductors.

When installing a simple jumper between two or more cartridges, the design will have a significant drawback.

The second lamp will light only if the first one is installed in its place. Remove it, and the other one will go out immediately.

The supply conductors should converge on the terminal block, where you will have the following connected in turn:

When it comes to fluorescent lamps, many immediately imagine a white glowing tube on the ceiling. The association is correct, but it does not give a complete picture of the many possibilities and advantages of this lamp, especially since the overwhelming majority of the population thinks that fluorescent lamps are not entirely suitable for apartments due to their bulkiness. Most often, they are used only to illuminate various types of work surfaces, for example, in the kitchen or workshop. But it is worth considering the fact that today there are a variety of fluorescent lamp options on the market, developed by modern designers. They can have different colors of light, mainly: daylight, cool white, warm white and warm. This feature distinguishes them from simple light bulbs. The shapes of fluorescent lamps are: tubular, compact and shaped. In order to light such a lamp, a starter is required, which is located in the area of the lamp base.

To replace a failed fluorescent lamp with your own hands, you need to follow a few simple rules
, and, regardless of the shape and length of the lamp, the replacement principle is the same:
. First you need to determine what exactly burned out: lamp, starter or throttle. If the lamp itself burns out, its ends turn black.
. When the lamp is noticeably darkened, in this case it must be replaced. For this, first of all, it is necessary to turn off the switch, i.e. de-energize it.
. Next you need turn the burnt-out lamp clockwise by hand and then pull it out.
. Insert new lamp replace the old one and turn it in the opposite direction.
. To turn on the light, to check how the new lamp lights up.

Don't forget about the burnt out lamp. It must be handled very carefully and with care as it contains mercury. It is advisable to place it in the same cardboard packaging in which you bought the new lamp. Although, according to the rules, you should pack a fluorescent lamp in a special container. You should not give it to children, and when throwing away a box with a lamp, you should ensure that it does not fall into the hands of anyone.

The popularity of fluorescent lamps is growing rapidly. This is explained by the fact that such lamps are characterized by high luminous efficiency, while consuming a very small amount of electricity. This feature attracts Russian buyers, since electricity becomes more expensive from year to year and the issue of saving becomes extremely pressing. And a fluorescent lamp requires only a fifth of the energy that an ordinary incandescent lamp consumes.
