Members of the group Carmen. Almost half a century at the helm: the Carmen group

Or the Ladybug group. Most of the performers of famous hits have long disappeared from the Olympus of show business, but there are still those who are still releasing new products to this day. One of them is singer and composer Sergei Lemokh.

Childhood and youth

Sergei Ogurtsov (the singer’s real name) was born on May 14, 1965 in the city of Serpukhov (Moscow region).

Father Mikhail Vasilyevich was a military man, and mother Lyubov Petrovna worked as a history teacher. Lemokh also has a brother, Alexey, who is ten years older than the singer.

The future youth idol was interested in music from the age of five (4 years in a jazz studio) and by the end of school he realized what he wanted to devote his life to. Lemokh’s creative biography began long before the Kar-Man team. The young man began to pave the way to show business back in 1981. When Sergei Lemokh studied at the Moscow Institute of Soviet Trade, he played keyboards in taverns in the evenings and worked as a DJ at the Kauchuk recreation center, and during the day he posed for the Knitting magazine, published by his mother.

At the same time, the ambitious young man attended a concert where the national pop star in Gorky Park for the first time performed the songs “Moonlight Dream” and “You’ll Never Be Mine” (text by David Samoilov). Sergei, inspired by Malikov’s work, decides to meet the popular performer at all costs.

Already in 1989, Dmitry in “New Year's Light” presented a new composition “Until Tomorrow” (words - Alexander Shaganov), but the artist does not work alone - he plays the drum kit, and Sergei Lemokh plays the keys. Later, together with Bogdan, he worked as a backup singer and backup dancer for Vladimir Maltsev, for whom Lemokh later wrote the song “Paris, Paris.”

Later, Maltsev became the producer of the Freestyle group and. Then he noticed promising guys and “took them under his wing”; he brought the guys together with the right people. The end of 1989 is considered the date of formation of the Carmen group.

Music

Initially, the guys positioned themselves as an “exotic pop duo”, and took the name of the fatal beauty – Carmen – as their name. In 1990, the group "Carmen" transformed into "Kar-man". As the performers themselves comment, they “met the wishes of the listeners, obscuring the reminder of the rival of today’s seductresses.”

The first album “Around the World” was dedicated to life in various cities and countries. Video clips were subsequently recorded for the hits “London, Goodbye”, “Paris, Paris”, “Chio-Chio-San”. After work on the project was completed, a discord occurred in the team: Sergei was tired of entering into eternal confrontation with Bogdan Titomir and fighting for leadership in the group. The man did not understand why his colleague was trying to “jump in over his head” and take all the glory for himself when he had nothing to do with the lyrics or arrangements. The next album, “Kar-Mania,” was recorded without Bogdan’s participation.

In 1991, the group reached the apogee of popularity: “Kar-man” won first places in various competitions, won the “Ovation” award, and the permanent leader of the group wrote a couple of songs and.

The third album “Kar-man” was a collection of the best songs, consisting of remixes of old compositions. In 1993, the group toured Russia. Sergei starred in several commercials, took part in the television game “Marathon-15”, and also wrote the soundtrack for the cartoon “Captain Pronin”.

The following year, the group released two discs at once: “Russian Massive Sound Aggression” and “Live...”. It is noteworthy that the songs occupied exclusively top positions in the music charts. After this, the group experienced a creative lull.

The next album was released only in 1996. It consisted of slow tracks and was called “Your Sexy Thing.” In the same year, the group went on tour to Germany and the USA, and also took part in international festivals.

In 1997, the group performed on the television show “Surprise from Pugacheva,” presenting a remix of her composition “Robinson” to the national pop scene. At the same time, Lemokh’s solo album “Polaris” was released. Next comes “King of the Disc.” And in 1999, the album “Back to the Future” contained remixes of the group’s first hits.

The project remains relevant to this day. “Car-Man” is remembered and loved by both ordinary people and show business stars. So, in 2016, on the stage of the project “Exactly”, the ex-soloist of the group “Yin-Yang” in the image of Sergei Lemokh performed the song “London, Goodbye”.

Personal life

Sergei does not like to talk about his personal life, but it is reliably known that Lemokh was married twice.

The artist met his first wife Natalya when he was a young, unknown singer. As often happens, the marriage did not stand the test of fame.

Due to a series of endless tours in the 90s, Sergei did not have time to “stop and take a break,” let alone establish a family structure. Natalya quickly realized that she and her husband had different priorities: she wanted children and a quiet life, but he dreamed of creating, constantly “being on the move” and being not only heard by everyone, but also visible. The young people divorced without scandals, division of property or claims. During the family idyll, the wife gave the artist two daughters - Lyudmila and Alisa.

Lemokh did not consider himself a model father. The singer did not attend school meetings, did not read moral lectures, and rarely spent weekends with the children. Despite this, Alisa maintains a warm relationship with Sergei and even goes to his concerts. But Lyudmila believes that her father devotes little time to her.

Both young ladies have a musical education. The eldest daughter tried herself as a DJ, but quickly burned out, now the girl is “searching for herself.”

Having become a father early, the singer also became a grandfather early. The artist has two granddaughters.

The singer’s second wife was his bandmate, Ekaterina Kanaeva. The woman managed to build strong, respectful relationships with the artist’s adult daughters, but she never interfered in their upbringing. The wise young lady did not want to take on the role of an “all-knowing parent” and be too intrusive.

Ekaterina and Sergei do not have common children, but, according to the singer, they are working on it.

Sergey Lemokh now

In September 2018, the artist’s daughter Lyudmila became the heroine of the “Let Them Talk” program. The girl fell into bad company, started drinking and now risks losing her rights to her child, Lemokh’s granddaughter. Lyudmila’s grandmother said that the artist’s ex-wife, Natalya, died of cancer back in 2014. According to the woman, Lemokh was never interested in the life of his eldest daughter, did not show love for her, just like his mother, and after the divorce did not take part in her life at all.

At the moment, the performer gives all of himself to music. The artist releases fresh singles, makes mixes of everyone’s favorite hits, and plans to finish work on a new album in the near future. Despite the fact that the performer is not on Instagram, his photos from concerts and vacations regularly appear online.

Never losing his agility, the man plans to further expand the target audience of fans of his work, so he is actively studying the Internet market. The artist wants to release projects that will be interesting to people. So, in 2017, on the official website of the group, the singer presented the “Double Jazzy” project.

Among other things, Lemokh continues to perform as part of the group “Kar-man” both in Russia and in Europe.

Established in 1989 group "Carmen" gained popularity at such a pace that within a few months the whole country knew the name. This was the first male duet in the USSR to perform their own songs and prepare a choreographic performance for each of them. Sergei Lemokh and Bogdan Titomir became idols of hundreds of thousands of listeners, but in the spring of 1991 the duo broke up, and each of the performers began a solo career. There were several versions about the reasons for the disagreement.

Sergei Lemokh and Bogdan Titomir in the late 1980s. worked as a backup dancer for singer Vladimir Maltsev. It was he who first performed the song “Paris, Paris” written by Lemokh, which soon became the hallmark of the Carmen group. The “exotic pop duo” began their performances with this name, and in 1990 they changed it to “Car-Man” (“Man-Machine”) - in this way they “meeted the wishes of the listeners, obscuring the original reminder of the insidious Spanish rival of today's young temptresses."

The performers themselves interpreted the name of the group as “driver” or “traveler,” which corresponded to the concept of the project: the first album was called “Around the World,” and each song was dedicated to a specific country or city. Later, Sergei Lemokh said about the motives for choosing such a name: “I don’t know what kind of legends there could be here, our team is named after a truck driver, a “man of roads,” and “CarMan” is an American slang name for a truck driver.”

Their popularity was gaining incredible momentum; within six months after the group’s founding, it was filling stadiums all over the country; cassettes with pirated recordings were selling out like hot cakes, and then re-recorded on home tape recorders. In 1990, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper conducted a survey, according to the results of which the Kar-Man group became the winner in two categories: “Discovery of the Year” and “Group of the Year”. In the same year, the group received the “Shlager-90” award, and in 1991 they earned several more awards: “50x50”, “Starry Rain” and “Ovation”.

In 1991, Bogdan Titomir unexpectedly left the project and began solo activities. As it turned out, the recording company Gala Records offered the Kar-Man group a contract with serious obligations for 10 years in advance, which Lemokh signed, but Titomir refused to sign. The second album, entitled “Kar-Mania”, was released without Titomir’s participation.

Titomir later admitted that in the last months of the group’s existence he did not communicate with Lemokh at all, they even came to concerts in different cars, and then decided to stop working together altogether. Titomir believes that this happened due to different views on music: Lemokh wanted to make the second album similar to the first, and he was already writing other songs, which he soon presented in solo performance - “Do as I do,” “High” and “ Nonsense". Sergei Minaev said: “Lemokh was much more interesting and musical, but Bogdan had a better sense of fashion and the whole market situation.” They also said that the reason for the breakup was that both performers were real leaders, and each of them in the team wanted to be in the lead roles. For the last 20 years, Bogdan Titomir and Sergei Lemokh have not seen each other or communicated.

Sergei Lemokh continued performing under the Kar-Man brand, with which he still tours to this day. In addition, he recorded the soundtrack for the animated series "Captain Pronin", created musical intros for television shows, and worked as a composer with other artists (Natalia Senchukova, Lada Dance, Natalia Gulkina).

Lemokh explains that the group “Kar-Man” still packs the halls with its music that is not losing its relevance: “A mixed audience comes to us: adults who remember the 1990s, and young people who know what we do in electro "; as well as his own image: “A pop artist must take care of himself, because the stage and pop music, in particular, sells sex. For a man, this means regular exercise in the gym, physical activity, healthy sleep, a healthy lifestyle, I won’t reveal anything new to you. People in Russia after 40 for some reason stop taking care of themselves, in vain, but the West has recently had a very beneficial effect on us in this regard.”

In the late 1980s - early 1990s. was no less popular

The group "Kar-men" was one of the most popular Soviet and Russian musical groups in the early and mid-nineties. She became a cult dance of that time. The group was created in 1989 by Sergei Lemokh and Bogdan Titomir. But a year later the team broke up. Titomir went into solo work. However, the musical project did not cease to exist. The lead singer of the group “Carmen” and songwriter Lemokh continued

Start

Sergei was born on May 14, 1965 in the city of Serpukhov. The future stage idol studied at the Moscow Cooperative Institute and graduated in 1988 with a degree in merchandising. But he also has a musical education: 7 years of school and 4 years of jazz studio. The future lead singer of the Carmen group began his career in show business in 1981. He played and sang in restaurants and worked as a DJ. Somewhat later, he joined the musicians first with Dmitry Malikov, and then with Vladimir Maltsev, for whom he wrote the song “Paris, Paris”. Subsequently, it was with this composition that the history of the Kar-men group began.

Nineties

The first album of the project turned out to be unusual: the songs told about different countries and cities. The name of the disc was given accordingly - “Around the World”. The next album, “Car-Mania,” was released without the participation of Bogdan Titomir.

Since 1991, the project's popularity began to reach its apogee. The group “Kar-men” won first places in various competitions and won the “Ovation” award. In the same year, Sergei Lemokh wrote several songs that gained great popularity.

The third album “Kar-men” was a collection of the best songs, consisting of remixes of old themes and several new compositions. In 1993, the group actively toured Russia. The lead singer of "Carmen" starred in several commercials, took part in the television game "Marathon-15", and also made the soundtrack for the domestic cartoon "Captain Pronin".

The following year, the group released two discs at once: “Russian Massive Sound Aggression” and “Live...”. It is noteworthy that all the songs for them were written by Lemokh himself, and most of them occupied top positions in the music charts. After this, the group experienced a creative lull.

In 1997, the group performed on the television show “Surprise from Pugacheva,” presenting a remix of her composition “Robinson.” This period of time is also notable for the release of Lemokh’s solo album, “Polaris.”

Two thousandths

In 2001, the group celebrated its 10th anniversary by going on tour in Russia and Germany, which lasted a whole year.

The project continues to live, new songs are played and concerts are held in nightclubs. The lead singer of the group “Carmen” keeps up with the times, he releases fresh and fashionable material. Of course, he is not as popular as before, but audiences happily meet him at concerts that take place several times a month.

In 2014, several of the group’s hits became the soundtrack to the popular TV series “Fizruk”. Lemokh is currently participating in a new project. The young rock band “SidHouse” invited him to release a joint album.

Personal life

The lead singer of the Carmen group was married twice. The first marriage ended in divorce. The fame that came to the artist separated the spouses. But Lemokh and Natalya maintained friendly relations. They have two children: Alisa and Lyudmila. The musician is unable to pay enough attention to his daughters due to his busy work schedule. Sergei's second wife, Ekaterina, is a member of the Kar-men group.

Excerpt characterizing Kar-man

She looked where he had gone, to the other side of life. And that side of life, which she had never thought about before, which had previously seemed so distant and incredible to her, was now closer and dearer to her, more understandable than this side of life, in which everything was either emptiness and destruction, or suffering and insult.
She looked to where she knew he was; but she could not see him otherwise than as he was here. She saw him again the same as he was in Mytishchi, at Trinity, in Yaroslavl.
She saw his face, heard his voice and repeated his words and her words spoken to him, and sometimes she came up with new words for herself and for him that could then be said.
Here he lies on an armchair in his velvet fur coat, resting his head on his thin, pale hand. His chest is terribly low and his shoulders are raised. The lips are firmly compressed, the eyes shine, and a wrinkle jumps up and disappears on the pale forehead. One of his legs is trembling almost noticeably quickly. Natasha knows that he is struggling with excruciating pain. “What is this pain? Why pain? How does he feel? How it hurts!” - Natasha thinks. He noticed her attention, raised his eyes and, without smiling, began to speak.
“One terrible thing,” he said, “is to associate yourself forever with a suffering person. This is eternal torment." And he looked at her with a searching look—Natasha now saw this look. Natasha, as always, answered then before she had time to think about what she was answering; she said: “This cannot go on like this, this will not happen, you will be healthy - completely.”
She now saw him first and now experienced everything that she felt then. She remembered his long, sad, stern look at these words and understood the meaning of the reproach and despair of this long look.
“I agreed,” Natasha was now telling herself, “that it would be terrible if he remained always suffering. I said it that way only because it would have been terrible for him, but he understood it differently. He thought it would be terrible for me. He still wanted to live then - he was afraid of death. And I told him so rudely and stupidly. I didn't think that. I thought something completely different. If I had said what I thought, I would have said: even if he were dying, dying all the time before my eyes, I would be happy compared to what I am now. Now... Nothing, no one. Did he know this? No. Didn't know and never will. And now it will never, never be possible to correct this.” And again he told her the same words, but now in her imagination Natasha answered him differently. She stopped him and said: “Terrible for you, but not for me. You know that I have nothing in life without you, and suffering with you is the best happiness for me.” And he took her hand and pressed it as he had pressed it on that terrible evening, four days before his death. And in her imagination she told him other tender, loving speeches that she could have said then, which she said now. “I love you... you... I love you, I love you...” she said, convulsively squeezing her hands, gritting her teeth with fierce effort.
And sweet grief overwhelmed her, and tears were already welling up in her eyes, but suddenly she asked herself: to whom is she telling this? Where is he and who is he now? And again everything was clouded with dry, hard bewilderment, and again, tensely knitting her eyebrows, she peered at where he was. And so, it seemed to her that she was penetrating the secret... But at that moment, just as something incomprehensible was opening up to her, the loud knock of the door lock handle painfully struck her ears. Quickly and carelessly, with a frightened, uninterested expression on her face, the maid Dunyasha entered the room.
“Come to daddy, quickly,” Dunyasha said with a special and animated expression. “It’s a misfortune, about Pyotr Ilyich... a letter,” she said, sobbing.

In addition to the general feeling of alienation from all people, Natasha at this time experienced a special feeling of alienation from her family. All her own: father, mother, Sonya, were so close to her, familiar, so everyday that all their words and feelings seemed to her an insult to the world in which she had lived lately, and she was not only indifferent, but looked at them with hostility . She heard Dunyasha’s words about Pyotr Ilyich, about misfortune, but did not understand them.
“What kind of misfortune do they have there, what kind of misfortune can there be? Everything they have is old, familiar and calm,” Natasha mentally said to herself.
When she entered the hall, the father was quickly leaving the countess's room. His face was wrinkled and wet with tears. He apparently ran out of that room to give vent to the sobs that were crushing him. Seeing Natasha, he desperately waved his hands and burst into painful, convulsive sobs that distorted his round, soft face.
- Pe... Petya... Come, come, she... she... is calling... - And he, sobbing like a child, quickly mincing with weakened legs, walked up to the chair and fell almost on it, covering his face with his hands.
Suddenly, like an electric current ran through Natasha’s entire being. Something hit her terribly painfully in the heart. She felt terrible pain; It seemed to her that something was being torn away from her and that she was dying. But following the pain, she felt an instant release from the ban on life that lay on her. Seeing her father and hearing her mother’s terrible, rude cry from behind the door, she instantly forgot herself and her grief. She ran up to her father, but he, helplessly waving his hand, pointed to her mother’s door. Princess Marya, pale, with a trembling lower jaw, came out of the door and took Natasha by the hand, saying something to her. Natasha didn’t see or hear her. She entered the door with quick steps, stopped for a moment, as if in a struggle with herself, and ran up to her mother.
The Countess lay on an armchair, stretching out strangely awkwardly, and banging her head against the wall. Sonya and the girls held her hands.
“Natasha, Natasha!..” shouted the countess. - It’s not true, it’s not true... He’s lying... Natasha! – she screamed, pushing those around her away. - Go away, everyone, it’s not true! Killed!.. ha ha ha ha!.. not true!
Natasha knelt on the chair, bent over her mother, hugged her, lifted her with unexpected strength, turned her face towards her and pressed herself against her.
- Mama!.. darling!.. I’m here, my friend. “Mama,” she whispered to her, without stopping for a second.
She did not let her mother go, gently struggled with her, demanded a pillow, water, unbuttoned and tore her mother’s dress.
“My friend, my dear... mamma, darling,” she whispered incessantly, kissing her head, hands, face and feeling how uncontrollably her tears flowed in streams, tickling her nose and cheeks.
The Countess squeezed her daughter's hand, closed her eyes and fell silent for a moment. Suddenly she stood up with unusual speed, looked around senselessly and, seeing Natasha, began squeezing her head with all her might. Then she turned her face, wrinkled in pain, towards her and peered at it for a long time.
“Natasha, you love me,” she said in a quiet, trusting whisper. - Natasha, won’t you deceive me? Will you tell me the whole truth?
Natasha looked at her with tear-filled eyes, and in her face there was only a plea for forgiveness and love.

"Car-man"- Soviet and Russian pop group, popular at the very beginning of the 1990s. The leader of the group is Sergei Lemokh.

Story

The group was founded in 1989 by Bogdan Titomir and Sergei Lemokh, who were musicians for Dmitry Malikov. Then, working as a backup dancer for singer Vladimir Maltsev, they composed the song “Paris, Paris” for him, which they later decided to perform on their own.

Initially, the duo referred to themselves as an “exotic pop duo.” They took the name “Carmen” as the name. In 1990, the name changed to “Car-Man”. As the performers themselves comment, in this way they “meet the wishes of the listeners, obscuring the initial reminder of the insidious Spanish rival of today’s young seductresses.” The name can be translated as “man-car”. Performers prefer the synonym “traveler.” Therefore, the group’s first album, entitled “Around the World” (1990), had a unique concept: each song from which in one way or another talks about different cities and countries.

For the first time on TV, the group “lit up” in the spring of 1990, on the “2x2” TV channel, performing several songs (unknown source), then in the summer of the same year in the “Variety Vernissage” program, with the video “Paris”, and already at the end of the year, summed up in the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper, the duo became a leader in two categories: “Discovery of the Year” and “Group of the Year”.
